Statement of Faith

We believe there is one God—the God of the Bible—the Creator of all things Who has forever existed in an eternal relationship consisting of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is unlimited in Power, infinite in wisdom, and perfect in all His attributes and ways.

We believe that Jesus Christ is God Incarnate, the ultimate revelation of God to humanity and the only way to God as He Himself declared in John 14:6, I Am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

We believe that the Bible (including both Old and New Testaments) was inspired by God and is the ultimate and final authority and guide for faith, doctrine, and all questions pertaining to life and godliness.

We believe that humanity was created a noble creature in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26) but through the sin and rebellion of our first parents that image became marred resulting in the human race becoming a fallen race, separated from God (Genesis 3). Roman 3:23 says, For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), and therefore in need of a Savior.

We believe that salvation, including forgiveness of sin and hope of eternal life, is found only through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the Cross. When we repent of our sins and put our faith in Jesus Christ alone, we are forgiven of all sins and declared righteous by God Himself (Romans 3:21-25).

We believe in the equality of men and women as is obvious in Creation (Genesis 1-2). Inequality and sexual hierarchy came in with the Fall (Genesis 3), but the equality of Creation was restored through the redemptive work of Jesus on the Cross (Galatians 3:28). Statements by Paul that seem to teach inequality become clear when we consider the Greek word choice used by Paul and the historical context within which he was writing.

We believe that every believer should ask for and receive the promised baptism in the Holy Spirit, which is an enduement of power given to enable the believer to be an effective witness of Jesus Christ (Matthew 3:11; Acts 1:8).  This baptism in the Spirit (sometimes called being filled with the Holy Spirt) is received by faith and opens the believer to all the miraculous gifts of the Holy Spirit and is normally accompanied by speaking in tongues as in the Book of Acts (Acts 2:4; 10:44-46; 19:6).

We believe that Divine healing is an integral part of the Gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers. There are many ways that a person may receive healing as is revealed in the ministry of Jesus and in Acts and the Epistles.

We believe in the Second Advent of Jesus Christ when He returns in glory and power as promised in numerous Scriptures such as Acts 1:9-11, I Thessalonians 4:13-18, and II Thessalonians 1:7-10. We believe in the physical resurrection of the dead, the wicked to be judged and condemned and those who have put their faith in Christ to eternal life.

We believe in a final judgement and that both believers and non-believers will be required to give an account of how they have lived their lives (II Corinthians 5:10). Those who have received God’s gracious gift of salvation through Jesus Christ will experience eternal, heavenly bliss in the presence of God and Jesus Christ, but those who refuse God’s gracious gift of salvation through Jesus Christ will experience separation from God and eternal damnation (Revelation 20:13-15; 21:1-7; 22:1-5).
